On the night of May 20, 2025, Bradenton Police Officer Shane Sharp was injured while attempting to make a traffic stop. During the encounter, Officer Sharp was involved in a struggle with a suspect, which led to the officer being pinned inside the vehicle as it accelerated. The situation escalated quickly, and Officer Sharp sustained several injuries, including a concussion and arm injuries.
He was immediately transported to the hospital and has since been released. Officer Sharp is now recovering at home and is stable. While this has been a challenging incident, he remains in good spirits, and we are hopeful for his continued recovery.
We ask for your thoughts and prayers as Officer Sharp recovers from his injuries. His courage, dedication, and resilience are an inspiration to all of us, and we know that with the support of the community, he will be back stronger than ever.
Thank you for your continued support of our local law enforcement. Your encouragement makes a difference for the officers who serve and protect us every day.
